SUMMERTIME!

Since we're in full blown summer here, it brings lots of visitors. Which we LOVE! It keeps us very busy and time flies by. We got to play tour guides for a few days so here's some highlights...
We took our friends on a hike. It's an hour and a half up to the waterfall and an hour and a half back. Here's a HUGE tree we saw!
And there was a clearing that had tons of vines hanging. So the girls took turns swinging on them.

And we finally made it to the waterfall.

Another day we took them to a place in the mountains called Vinca Lerida. It's a coffee farm that has a restaurant, coffee shop, and beautiful cabins you can rent. It is harvest time so covering the hills you see Ngobes working hard at picking the coffee beans.

We got to see them spread the beans all over a huge concrete slab to dry them out.

We also thought it'd be fun to show them mountain territory. There are so many areas that are hard to get to by car so again...we hiked. :) One "road" on the territory map said it was a 30 min hike up and 30 min hike down. We decided to be adventurous. They weren't lying. The hike was so long!  And this isn't nice paved concrete. It's big and small, loose gravel. I know you can't really see it in this picture, but we parked and walked up to a house that's just a speck in the middle.
Here's a picture from about half way up.

Once at the top, we discovered.... no English speakers. So the gentleman was kind enough to let the girls pet his horse. Then we set off for the long hike back.

And now I kinda feel bad showing you all these pictures, since the weather here is so nice and you're in the middle of winter. So I will embarass myself just to show you we do have difficulties here. With summer brings wind. And it's not just wind, but tropical stormlike wind. In one picture we captured what we deal with daily.
